![]() ![]() When I say that you are in a dream, I am also in a dream. This very saying is a deception."įung Yu-Lan: "How stupid! Confucius and you are both in a dream. ![]() Palmer: "The master and you are both living in a dream. Words like these will be labeled the Supreme Swindle." Watson: "Confucius and you both are dreaming! And when I say you are dreaming, I am dreaming, too. So, is Palmer, the cheapest, most widely available translation, absolutely terrible, and shouldn't even be considered, and instead everyone should spend five or ten times as much, or more, on a much better translation? Since this required a lot of leg work, comparing translations and such, for me, I figured I'd share my results, and maybe save others some time. So, if you're poor, like me, it is relevant whether or not you save up for, and then spend 30 dollars on the Ziporyn, or 70 on the Watson translation, or try to track down the Fung Yu-Lan translation. Why am I writing this thread? Because these books all have varying prices and availability. ![]() I've heard that Fung Yu-Lan is excellent as well, though I'm not seeing a complete translation, only the inner chapters, but maybe I'm just not finding it, but it does exist. I've been told the same amount that Watson is great, and that Ziporyn is excellent. I've been told repeatedly that Palmer is unreadable, a really poor translation. ![]()
